Supervision - what is it?
ANZASW defines supervision as “a process in which the supervisor; enables, guides and facilitates the social worker(s) in meeting certain organisational, professional and personal objectives. These objectives are: professional competence, accountable & safe practice, continuing professional development, education and support.”
The SWRB also state that the supervisor must “be able to provide supervision that is relevant to the supervisee’s spiritual, traditional and theoretical understandings, cultural worldview, experience, skills and requirements for accountability”.

Services Offered
Leanne provides professional supervision services in your place of work or alternatively she has a meeting space in west Auckland.
Leanne also provides on-line or 'virtual' supervision through Skype/Facetime and/or email and telephone supervision (in accordance with ANZASW Supervision Policy - Clause 7.5 and Practice Note 1). Skype and Facetime are free video/voice services accessed through the internet. Skype/Facetime are great options for people who work remotely or in areas where supervision support is limited. They are easy to use and the software is free to access. Leanne is available to support people to set up and use these services.
Sessions are usually 1 x month for 1 hour. A supervision contract is discussed and negotiated between Leanne and the supervisee and approved by the organisation.
